If you are snoring at night then chances are that you also wake up groggy, possibly with a headache, and not feeling very rested. This can lead to COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) if you don't do anything to stop snoring. Even without going that far, snoring creates stress at a time when your body needs to recover from stress and so it magnifies any health condition that you have.

Why is snoring so bad for your health?

You have to be mouth breathing to be snoring and in doing so, you are hyperventilating and exhaling too much carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is what determines the release of oxygen to your cells and when there's not enough then oxygen does not get released to the cells. What happens when you breathe so much air is that your body tries to slow it down by closing off the airway and this is what causes the snoring. What happens when you keep breathing so heavy is your body shuts down your breathing for a minute or two so that you can build up carbon dioxide and begin to deliver oxygen to your cells again. For full blown COPD you hyperventilate until you stop breathing, build up carbon dioxide to normal and then repeat over and over all night.

There are a couple ways to stop snoring and one of them is using hypnosis to reduce the stress and resolve the emotional trauma that's causing the snoring. This is the best way to deal with it.

MY JOURNEY OF HEALING STRESS

I used to believe that I handled stress well and even thought that I performed better under stress. But that was a time that I didn't connect stress to my frequent migraine headaches, health issues, or my weight issues. I grew up in the printing industry where everything was a last minute rush and many of the customers had higher standards than the technology allowed for. It's an industry full of toxic narcissism and my family business was no exception. Even when we lost the majority of our business in one day, when our number 1 client claimed bankruptcy, I had no idea that stress was slowly killing me and making me very unproductive. A loss like that is considered grief and I didn't deal with any of my stress. I was tasked with rebuilding sales in a market that was shifting to a digital world and my family was adamant that the internet was just a fad... I was pitching a museum in a world where everyone wanted the most advanced technology and it was my fault when the clients didn't buy from us. I ended up spinning in circles going nowhere... and I was expected to not only keep spinning but to figure out how to spin better. I just wasn't good enough. As the stress got worse & worse my health declined and I was getting stomach cramps and even chest pains. I finally came to realize that the stressful environment was killing me and my only option was to remove myself from the environment. I felt like I was going to die. So I left the family business.

Since I was a workaholic I found myself with lots of time to research what stress is and how it was affecting my health. I was lucky in that I had gotten over the migraine headaches before all this happened and I looked into why a breathing exercise & acupuncture had accomplished what all the doctors and neurosurgeons said was impossible. I soon learned what stress truly was and that it's not what society leads us to believe it is.

WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT STRESS:

Stress is our response to fear and is called "fight or flight" 
Stress is our sympathetic mode of operation
Stress shuts down our vital processes such as digestion and immunity
Stress shuts down access to our unconscious mind and our memory making it more difficult to process information or to think
Stress is a major contributor to almost every health issue

The situation itself was not stressful, it was my reaction to the situation
